The SocialCare Open API PlatformTM is a comprehensive, “REST API” software Platform that fully complies with the Fast Healthcare Interoperable Resources (FHIR) standard which describes data formats and elements for exchange of health information across disparate EHR and business systems. The SocialCare Open API platform communicates bi-directionally.

The SocialCare Open API Platform utilizes the requirements set forth in: 170.315(b)(1) Transitions of Care, 170.315(d)(1) Access Control and Authorization, 170.315(d)(9) Trusted Connection, 170.315(d)(2) Auditable Events and Tamper-resistance, 170.315(d)(3) Audit Reports, 170.315(d)(5) Automatic Access Time-Out, 170.315(d)(6) Emergency Access, 170.315(d)(7) End-User Device Encryption, 170.315(d)(8) Integrity, 170.315(g)(4) Quality Management System, 170.315(g)(5), Accessibility Compatibility, 170.315(g)(6) Consolidated CDA Creation, 170.315(g)(7), Application Access – Patient Selection, 170.315(g)(8) Application Access – Data Category Request, and 170.315(g)(9) Application Access – All Data Request. Technical or Practical Limitations: There are no contractual limitations related to the certified product that would limit the user’s ability to use any of the ONC certified features. For transitions of care summaries 170.314(b)(1) the outside app developer will require 3rd party services.

DirectTrust.org is a non-profit, competitively neutral entity created by and for participants in the Direct community, including HISPs, CAs and RAs, doctors, patients, and vendors. It supports both provider-to-provider as well as patient-to-provider Direct exchange.
